I don’t think I would have classified some as fantasy / SF at the time, but I guess they have something a little odd about them.I love Cloud Atlas but Mitchell can do little wrong in my view. I liked The Road, although it’s very different from other Cormac McCarthy novels. But my unexpected find was Faber’s Under the Skin which I chanced upon last year and went into my Top Ten Reads of 2008!
